The SJWF Indoor Benchrest Airgun League (or SJWF IBAL) is an adult air rifle league that meets on Friday evenings twice a month for 12 weeks. There are four leagues per year: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Dates of the Leagues and matches are noted on the SJWF Calendar. The matches are conducted in our Indoor Range and start at 7:00 P.M. Currently, matches are held on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. The League fee (which is optional) is $20.00 per league. The match fee is $10.00 per match. League members are entitled to a $4.00 discount per match. We request that competitors arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the match. Competitors may register for the League and matches at Practiscore.com. Soon, competitors will be able to pay League and match fees online at Practiscore.com. Until then, all fees are payable upon arrival at the matches.
Air rifles supported are .177 (4.5mm) and .22 (5.5mm) calibers. There are three air rifle Divisions: Light, Heavy, and Unlimited. Light Rifles weigh up to 10.5 pounds which includes the sighting device and other attachments. Light rifles cannot use rear rests. The Heavy division rifles weigh up to 15 pounds including sighting devices and other attachments. The Unlimited Division contains rifles that are over 15 pounds or have custom features not included on stock factory rifles. Iron, telescopic, and other optics are supported. No laser projecting aiming devices are allowed.
Bench rests allowed are two-piece rests that are not connected to each other. No one-piece rests. Front rests may have elevation and windage adjustment mechanisms. Bipods may also be used. Rear rests, if used, cannot contain windage and elevation mechanisms. They may have bags or “donuts” to adjust
elevation. The IBAL rules may be found here. IBAL Rules and Regulations.
Competitors compete with other competitors within the same Division and Sight categories. The League matches consist of 40 single-shot bullseyes in 40 minutes. We use the Orion scoring system and Athena electronic targets. Each match is worth 436 points. The points are used to determine the competitor classification: Marksman, Sharpshooter, Expert, Distinguished Expert, Master. Points and percentages determine League winners in each Division.
