Just a note…
I have received two emails in the last month with the same observation. One came from England and the other from Australia. Since the ban on guns was instituted in both countries, the incidents of violent crime have gone way up! (I wonder why??) In England crime involving firearms increased 8% last year. In Australia robberies are up 44%, and in the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300%. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and the criminals still possess their guns!) I realize that this is not news to any of us, just some food for thought.
One of our own went on to the Gardens of Paradise on July 23, 2002. James Shelton moved on after a long battle with cancer for the second time. Even though he was a member for just 2 years, he was very active with the club. His favorite activity was the Youth Sports Fest, he loved to teach firearm safety. Those who knew him will miss him.
Our next scheduled shoot will be the fourth Saturday of July, i.e. the 27th
The Board of Directors will be meeting every 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm. (Same day the newsletter has to be in.) The members at large are welcome to attend.
The 2002 range schedule is available at the secretary’s desk at the during meetings. Stop by and pick one up.
All activities must be cleared with the Executive Range Officer and written on the Range Calendar.
